Un uomo di Dublino è la seconda persona accusata in relazione all’omicidio del numero uno dublinese della Real IRA Alan Ryan.
Il sospetto, originario di Donaghmede ma che ha anche vissuto a Laytown, Co Meath, è stato portato in tribunale con l’accusa di nascondere informazioni in relazione all’omicidio.
Il fermo giunge il giorno dopo l’apparizione in aula di un altro uomo, un trentanovenne che è stato offeso e cui hanno detto che gli dovrebbero “sparare”.

Thomas Hunt, da Dublino nord, è stato accusato presso la Corte distrettuale di Dublino per aver trattenuto informazioni che potevano essere di aiuto materiale per l’arresto e la condanna di una persona per l’omicidio Ryan.
L’uomo portato in tribunale in precedenza è un ventisettenne arrestato dalla polizia giovedì mattina, dopo il ritorno in Irlanda.
Era stato detenuto nella stazione di polizia di Coolock e interrogato prima del suo rilascio.
Subito dopo essere stato liberato, la Garda lo ha nuovamente arrestato con l’accusa di nascondere informazioni circa l’omicidio di Alan Ryan.
Si è appreso che sono stati compiuti nei giorni scorsi “progressi significativi” nel corso dell’inchiesta, con decine di agenti che studiano i tabulati telefonici, analizzano i filmati delle telecamere a circuito chiuso e compiono operazioni di sorveglianza.
Fonti dicono che il sospettato era in rapporti amichevoli con alcuni dei più importanti gangster che hanno organizzato l’omicidio di Ryan.
L’udienza di Thomas Hunt si è svolta a porte chiuse, con l’eccezione di giornalisti e membri della famiglia.
Due uomini nella tribuna del pubblico inizialmente hanno rifiutato di muoversi. Quando la coppia si è alzata, il secondo uomo ha gridato “Tiocfaidh ar la” (“Il nostro giorno verrà – esclemazione in gaelico usata dai repubblicani), e ha guardato in direzione del signor Hunt prima di aggiungere “ti dovrebbero sparare”.
Entrambi sono stati scortati fuori dal tribunale.
Hunt è stato rimandato in custodia cautelare con l’autorizzazione a chiedere il rilascio con la condizionale e comparirà nuovamente nel tribunale distrettuale di Cloverhill mercoledì prossimo.

Second suspect is charged over gun murder of Ryan
A DUBLIN man has become the second person to be charged in connection with the murder of Real IRA boss Alan Ryan.
The suspect, who is originally from Donaghmede but had also been living in Laytown, Co Meath, was due in court today on charges of withholding information in relation to the gun murder.
It comes a day after a 39-year-old man was heckled and told he should be “f***ing shot” when he appeared in court on the same charge.

Father-of-two Thomas Hunt, of Canon Lillis Avenue, north Dublin, was charged at Dublin District Court with withholding information that might have been of material assistance in securing the apprehension, prosecution or conviction of a person for the killing.
The suspect before court today is a 27-year-old who was arrested by gardai at a district court sitting on Thursday morning of last week after returning to the country from abroad.
The man had been held at Coolock Garda Station since then and questioned before being released without charge at around 11pm yesterday.
He was then immediately re-arrested and charged with withholding information about the high-profile gun murder.
It is understood that “significant progress” has been made in the investigation in recent days with dozens of officers studying phone records, CCTV and carrying out surveillance.
Sources say that the suspect was on friendly terms with some of the major gangsters who organised Ryan’s murder.
For Thomas Hunt’s appearance yesterday the courtroom was cleared except for journalists and family members.
Two men in the public gallery initially refused to budge. When the pair got up, the second man shouted “tiocfaidh ar la” , and looked in the direction of Mr Hunt before adding “you should be f***ing shot.”
They were escorted from the courtroom.
Hunt was remanded in custody with consent to bail and will appear again at Cloverhill District Court next Wednesday.
