Un uomo di 45 anni è stato arrestato nella serata di mercoledì dalla polizia nordirlandese in relazione all’agguato mortale contro Danny McKay avvenuto il mese scorso a Newtownabbey.
L’uomo, del quartiere repubblicano/nazionalista di New Lodge a Belfast, è stato trasferito alla stazione di polizia di Antrim e viene interrogato nella Serious Crime Suite.
McKay fu colpito da diversi proiettili nel salotto della sua abitazione in Longlands Road a Newtownabbey, poco fuori nord Belfast. Il suo funerale si è tenuto lo scorso venerdì.
La gente presente nell’area dell’attacco ha parlato di alcuni bambini presenti poco lontano dalla scena dell’omicidio. Almeno due uomini hanno partecipato all’assassinio.

Man arrested over Antrim murder
A man in his 40s was arrested last night by the PSNI in relation to the fatal shooting of Danny McKay in Newtonabbey, Co Antrim, last month.
The 45-year-old from the New Lodge area of Belfast was taken to the Antrim Serious Crime Suite.
Mr McKay (36) was shot several times in the living room of his home at Longlands Road in Newtownabbey on the outskirts of north Belfast. His funeral took place last Friday.
People in the area at the time of the shooting claimed a number of children were standing only yards away when a gunman opened fire. At least two men are believed to have been involved in the killing.
