Gli investigatori della polizia nordirlandese hanno arrestato il 22 dicembre due uomini in relazione alla morte di Jean McConville, avvenuta 42 anni fa
Un sessantatreenne è stato arrestato a Forkhill, nella Contea di Armagh, dalla squadra PSNI incaricata di indagare sulla morte della donna, madre di 10 figli, avvenuta nel 1972.
Un uomo di 64 anni è stato fermato nelle stesse ore nella Contea di Antrim durante una perquisizione coordinata.
Jean McConville, la più conosciuta dei cosiddetti Disappeared (gli Scomparsi), fu rapita dal suo appartamento di West Belfast davanti ai figli, quindi uccisa e sepolta in segreto dall’Irish Republican Army.
Il suo corpo fu rinvenuto dopo oltre 30 anni su una spiaggia della Contea di Louth.
L’ispettore Neil McGuinness ha detto che gli ultimi arresti portano il numero dei fermati a 11.

TWO MEN ARRESTED OVER JEAN MCCONVILLE MURDER
DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Belfast mother-of-ten Jean McConville over 40 years ago have arrested two men today.
A 63-year-old man was arrested in Forkhill, Co Armagh by a special team set up to investigated the mother-of-ten’s murder in 1972.
A 64-year-old man was arrested in Co Antrim at the same time during co-ordinated raids.
Mrs McConville was abducted from her flat in west Belfast, shot dead and secretly buried by the IRA.
Her body was found 30 years later on a beach in Co Louth.
Detective Inspector Neil McGuinness said the latest arrests have brought the total number of people detained in a murder investigation to 11.
