Omicidio Kerr: polizia effettua ricerche ad Omagh

Vengono effettuate ricerche estese nella cittadina in cui l’agente di polizia Ronan Kerr è stato ucciso

Un portavoce della PSNI ha confermato che le ricerche vengono eseguite nella zona di Drumnakilly Road ad Omagh.

I gruppi armati repubblicani sono accusati di aver piazzato l’ordigno che ha ucciso il poliziotto cattolico venticinquenne, ma nessuno ha ancora rivedicato la responsabilità.

La polizia, nel frattempo, continua a trattenere tre persone con presunte connessioni all’omicidio. Alla PSNI è stato concesso più tempo per interrogarli.

Domenica, sempre a Omagh, si è svolto un raduno cui hanno partecipato circa 7.000 persone, scese in strada per sostenere la famiglia Kerr e la pace.

Police searches in Omagh over Kerr murder

Searches are being carried out in the town where PSNI Constable Ronan Kerr was murdered, by detectives investigating the car bomb attack outside his home.

A spokesman confirmed that officers are searching the Drumnakilly Road area of Omagh, Co Tyrone.

Dissident republicans have been blamed for planting the device that killed the 25-year-old constable, but no grouping has admitted responsibility.

It comes as police continue to hold three men over the murder, having been granted extra time to question them.

A rally was held in Omagh on Sunday, attended by around 7,000 people in a show of support for the Kerr family and to call for peace.
