Omicidio MCDaid: fermato ventenne

Un uomo è stato fermato in collegamento con l’assassinio di Kevin McDaid ed il tentato omicidio di Damien Fleming, avvenuti a maggio a Coleraine

Il giovane di 20 anni è stato arrestato nella cittadina giovedì mattina.

McDaid, 49 anni cattolico, fu assalito da lealisti in seguito ad una disputa sulle bandiere repubblicane innalzate nel quartiere di Heights il 24 maggio.

Dieci uomini sono stati accusati per reati collegati alla sua morte, sette di loro per omicidio ed anche tentato omicidio.

Due uomini sono stati accusati solo per il tentato omicidio di Damien Fleming.

In totale, 25 persone sono state arrestate nel corso delle indagini.

Man arrested over McDaid killing

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Kevin McDaid and the attempted murder of Damian Fleming in Coleraine in May.

The 20 year-old was arrested in the town on Thursday morning.

Mr McDaid, a 49-year-old Catholic, was attacked by loyalists after a row over republican flags in the Heights area of the town on 24 May.

Ten men have been charged in connection with the attacks, seven of them with murder and attempted murder.

Two men have been charged with attempted murder.

A total of 25 people have now been arrested during the investigation.
