‘Viable device’ found in south Belfast
A viable device has been discovered during a security alert in south Belfast, police have confirmed.
The object was found in the Annadale Avenue area in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The army bomb squad is currently at the scene and the alert is ongoing.
Diversions are in place at the Ormeau Road/Annadale Embankment junction and also at the Annadale Embankment/Governor’s Bridge junction.
Motorists have been advised to allow extra time for their journey.
