Lo Sinn Féin ha deciso di parlare dopo che “un finto ordigno” era stato abbandonato domenica sera fuori dal quartier generale di Connolly House a West Belfast.
Paul Maskey, parlamentare a Westminster, ha detto che l’oggetto lasciato fuori dall’edificio in Andersonstown Road ha provocato “solamente disagi per l’intera comunità”.
Ha affermato: “Connolly House continua a fornire servizi alla comunità locale e queste minacce ed attacchi non fermeranno lo Sinn Féin da proseguire quelle azioni.
“Il servizio fornito da Connolly House è utilizzato da una grande fetta della popolazione, che hanno fermamente respinto il tipo di persone responsabili per questo finto ordigno.
“Chiedo a chiunque sia coinvolto in questi attacchi di ascoltare la gente e desistere da queste attività che bloccano le comunità”.
La polizia e gli artificieri dell’esercito inglese si sono recati sulla scena e, dopo un esame dell’oggetto sospetto, hanno dichiarato che si trattava di un finto allarme.
L’Ispettore Roy Burnside ha chiesto informazioni a chiunque avesse assistito al fatto.

Sinn Fein has hit out after a ‘hoax device’ was left outside Connolly House in West Belfast on Sunday night.
MP Paul Maskey said that an object left outside the building on the Andersontown Road caused “nothing but disruption to the entire community”.
He said: “Connolly House has and continues to provide a service to the local community and these threats and attacks will not deter Sinn Féin from continuing that service.
“The constituency service provided by Connolly House is used by a large percentage of the local population who have firmly rejected the type of people behind this hoax device.
“I would call on anyone involved in these attacks to listen to the people and desist from this type of activity that only disrupts local communities.”
Police and ATO attended the scene. ATO examined an object and declared it a hoax.
Inspector Roy Burnside asked anyone who has any information about this incident to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
