Gli uffici del Castlereagh Borough Council sono stati perquisiti da una squadra della polizia, in relazione alle affermazioni fatte su Iris Robinson da un programma televisivo
Un gruppo dell’ufficio Crimine Organizzato sta eseguendo un’inchiesta dopo l’inchiesta scaturita in seguito al documentario secondo cui la signora Robinson avrebbe chiesto 50.000 sterline a due imprenditori per aiutare il suo giovane amante ad aprire un ristorante.
E’ stato affermato che la Robinson non avrebbe dichiarato il proprio interesse nell’affare, nonostante sedesse nel Consiglio che assegnava la licenza.
Iris Robinson ha lasciato le sue cariche politiche di MP (parlamentare a Westminster), MLA (parlamentare a Stormont) e consigliere comunale, dopo la scoperta di una sua relazione sentimentale con il diciannovenne Kirk McCambley.

Offices at Castlereagh Borough Council have been searched by a police team investigating allegations made against Iris Robinson in a recent TV programme.
A group from the organised crime branch is carrying out an enquiry after a documentary alleged Mrs Robinson secured a £50,000 loan from two wealthy developers to help her 19-year-old lover set up a restaurant.
It is claimed she did not declare an interest in the business despite sitting on the council that awarded the tender.
Mrs Robinson quit her three political positions as an MP, MLA and councillor after it emerged she had an affair with Kirk McCambley.
