Nel caso riguardante un repubblicano, lui e le sue due figlie sono stati fermati cinque volte nel giro di due settimane. In una occasione la sua figlia di sette anni ha dovuto lasciare la scena in taxi per i modi aggressivi e intimidatori della perquisizione. Un’altra volta un membro del 32CSM è stato fermato, spinto contro un muro e perquisito mentre teneva in braccio il figlio di tre ani. Altri repubblicani sono stati fermati mentre attendevano i figli all’uscita da scuola. In almeno uno di queste occasioni la famiglia del bambino ha contattato l’apposita commissione.
E’ ovvio che la PSNI adesso sta operando una campagna concertata di intimidazione contro le famiglie degli attivisti repubblicani. Il 32CSM terrà una protesta presso il Free Derry Corner alle 14:00 di sabato 4 luglio per evidenziare la continua persecuzione degli attivisti repubblicani e delle loro famiglie.

In the case of one Republican he and his two daughters have been stopped five times in the space of a fortnight. In one incident his seven year old daughter had to leave the scene in a taxi due to the aggressive and intimidating manner of the search. In another incident a member of the 32CSM was stopped pushed against the wall and searched whilst carrying his three year old child in his arms. Republicans have also been stopped collecting young children from school. In at least one of these incidents the family of the child concerned has contacted the children’s commission.
It is obvious that the PSNI is now operating a concerted campaign of intimidation aimed at the families of Republican activists. The 32CSM will be holding a protest at Free Derry Corner at 2pm on Saturday the 4th July to highlight the ongoing harassment of Republican activists and their families.
