Il primo ministro nordirlandese è stato trasportato in ospedale per un presunto infarto
Il politico sessantaseienne è stato trasportato da un’ambulanza all’Ulster Hospital di Dundonald alle 9 di lunedì mattina.
In seguito è stato trasferito al Royal Victoria Hospital di Belfast.
Un portavoce dell’ospedale ha detto: “Il signor Robinson è stato portato in ospedale questa mattina e attualmente è ricoverato presso il Royal Victoria Hospital”.
Un breve comunicato del DUP ha spiegato: “Il primo ministro non si è sentito bene questa mattina ed è stato portato in ospedale per ulteriori analisi”.
Peter Robinson è primo ministro nordirlandese dal 2008.
Dal 1979 al 2010 è stato parlamentare a Westminster per East Belfast – fu sconfitto nella tornata elettorale del 2010 da Naomi Long, Alliance Party – e dal 1998 è parlamentare a Stormont per la stessa area.
Il primo ministro inglese David Cameron è stato tra i primi politici ad inviare messaggi di sostegno a Peter Robinson.
Ha scritto su Twitter: “I miei migliori auguri al primo ministro nordirlandese, Peter Robinson, che si trova in ospedale.
“Gli auguro un rapido recupero”.

In un comunicato, il leader dell’UUP Mike Nesbitt ha affermato: “Sono dispiaciuto nell’apprendere che il primo ministro è stato portato in ospedale questa mattina e auguro a Peter un pieno e rapido recuoerp.
“I nostri pensieri sono con lui e la sua famiglia”.
Naomi Long, di Alliance Party, ha scritto: “I miei pensieri questa mattina vanno a Peter Robinson e alla sua famiglia.
“Gli auguro una pronta guarigione”.
Il numero uno dello SDLP, Alasdair McDonnell, ha affermato: “Voglio inviare i pensieri, le preghiere e i migliori auguri miei e dei colleghi dello SDLP a Peter Robinson e alla sua famiglia in questo periodo complicato”.
Gli auguri giungono anche da Nicola Sturgeon, leader dello Scottish National Party e primo ministro scozzese: “I migliori auguri per una rapida guarigione al primo ministro nordirlandese, Peter Robinson”.
Il numero due del DUP, Nigel Dodds, ha scritto su Twitter: “Auguri al leader DUP Peter Robinson per un rapido e completo recupero.
“Tutti i mostri pensieri sono con Peter e la famiglia. Dio lo benedica”.
Anche Theresa Villiers, Segretario di Stato per l’Irlanda del Nord, ha inviato i suoi “migliori auguri” di pronta guarigione a Peter Robinson.

Peter Robinson in hospital after ‘heart attack’
First Minister Peter Robinson has been admitted to hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack.
It is understood the 66-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald at around 9am on Monday.
He was then moved to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
A hospital spokeswoman said: “Mr Robinson underwent a procedure this morning and is currently recovering in the Royal Victoria Hospital.”
A short statement issued earlier by the DUP said: “The First Minister felt unwell this morning and has been admitted to the hospital for some further tests.”
Peter Robinson was installed as First Minister of Northern Ireland in June 2008.
He served as MP for East Belfast from 1979 until 2010 and has been an MLA for the area since 1998.
Prime Minister David Cameron is among the politicians sending messages of support to the First Minister.
He tweeted: “My best wishes to Northern Ireland’s First Minister, Peter Robinson, who is in hospital.
“I hope he has a speedy recovery.

In a statement, UUP leader Mike Nesbitt said: “I am sorry to hear that the First Minister has been taken into hospital this morning and I wish Peter a full and speedy recovery.
“Our thoughts are with him and his family.”
Naomi Long from the Alliance Party wrote: “Thoughts with Peter Robinson and the family this morning.
“Wishing him a speedy recovery.”
SDLP leader Alasdair McDonnell said: “I would like to extend the thoughts, prayers and best wishes of both myself and my SDLP colleagues to Peter Robinson and his family at this stressful time.”
Nicola Sturgeon, SNP leader and First Minister of Scotland, said: “Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Northern Ireland’s First Minister, Peter Robinson.”
DUP deputy leader Nigel Dodds tweeted: “Best wishes to @DUPleader Peter Robinson for a quick and full recovery.
“All our thoughts and prayers are with Peter and family. God Bless.”
Secretary of State Theresa Villiers has also sent her “very best wishes” to Mr Robinson for a speedy recovery.
