Piccoli disordini a Belfast: sette arresti

Seven arrests during Belfast disorder

Belfast Central Station

Seven men have been arrested by police officers dealing with pockets of sporadic disorder in Belfast.

Police said a number of public order incidents broke out in the south and east of the city on Easter Monday.

“Disorder occurred in Castlereagh Street, Ormeau Park and Central Train Station and a number of arrests have been made,” a PSNI spokesman said on Monday night.

A man in his 40s was arrested in the Castlereagh Street area, while six men were detained in the Ormeau Park area.

Police say they are being held on suspicion of a number of public order related offences.

Meanwhile, a man and a woman were reportedly bitten by a police dog during an incident in the grounds of Central Station on Monday evening.

Police say the incident will be reported to the Police Ombudsman’s Office.

It comes after a large crowd gathered in the train station.

Police said the crowd has now dispersed “with no reports of any arrests”.

Translink said a number of train services on the Larne line were temporarily disrupted during the incident at the station.

The NI Railways services are back to normal following the incident.

“Officers remain in the areas affected to monitor the situation,” the PSNI spokesman added.
