Pipe bomb esplode presso stazione PSNI di West Belfast

Una pipe bomb è esplosa nel terreno di una stazione di polizia a West Belfast

Gli artificieri dell’esercito britannico stanno esaminando i resti di un ordigno esploso presso la stazione della polizia di Woodburn, mentre ulteriori ricerche vengono eseguite.

Una portavoce della PSNI ha detto che nessuna strada è stata chiusa e nessuna abitazione è stata evacuata, perché la bomba è esplosa nei confini dell’edificio della polizia.

La stazione PSNI di Woodburn è già stata oggetto di numerosi precedenti attacchi.

Più recentemente, un autobus è stato sequestrato durante i disordini del 12 luglio e l’autista è stato costretto ad abbandonarlo fuori dalla stazione di polizia. Si riteneva che all’interno fosse stata piazzato un ordigno.

Pipe bomb explodes at PSNI station

A pipe bomb has exploded in the grounds of a police station in west Belfast.

Army bomb experts are examining the remains of the device at Woodburn PSNI station, while further searches are being carried out.

A police spokeswoman said that no roads had been closed or homes evacuated as the bomb was within the confines of the station complex.

Woodburn Station has been the subject of numerous previous attacks.

Most recently, a bus was hijacked during Twelfth of July disturbances and the driver forced to abandon it outside – it was claimed a bomb had been planted on board.
