Mercoledì sera una coppia ed i loro tre figli sono rimasti illesi dopo lo scoppio di una pipe bomb fuori dalla loro abitazione
Gli artificieri dell’esercito e la polizia sono intervenuti in Patrician Park, a Newry, intorno alle 21:20.
Danni sono stati causati alla parte anteriore della casa e ad un’autovettura parcheggiata all’esterno.
Un portavoce della polizia afferma che non è stato ancora chiarito il movente dell’attacco.
Stewart Dickson, portavoce di Alliance Party per il settore giustizia, ha condannato i responsabili dell’attacco.
“Qualcuno poteva morire in questo attacco”, ha affermato. “I responsabili non hanno alcun riguardo per le conseguenze delle loro azioni.
“Non c’è posto per la violenza nelle nostre strade. Dobbiamo ritenerci fortunati che nessuno sia stato colpito nel corso dell’attacco.
“Se qualcuno ha informazioni su questo attacco, contatti immediatamente la polizia”.

Newry pipe bomb: Family escapes injury in attack ‘that could have killed’
A couple and their three children, the youngest aged 18, escaped injury when a pipe bomb exploded outside their home on Wednesday night.
Army Technical officers and police attended the scene at around 9.20pm in Patrician Park, Newry.
Damage was caused to the front of the house and a car parked outside.
A police spokesman said no motive had yet been established and made an appeal for witnesses.
The Alliance party justice spokesman Stewart Dickson condemned those behind the attack.
“Somebody could have been killed in this attack,” he said. “The people responsible have no regards for the consequences of their actions.
“There is no place for violence on our streets. We should be thankful that nobody was hurt in this attack.
“If anybody has any information about this pipe bomb attack then I would urge them to contact the Police.”
