La polizia è stata aggredita con fuochi d’artificio e lanci di bottiglie dopo che un gruppo di circa 80 giovani si è radunato a East Belfast
L’attacco è avvenuto nella zona di Castlereagh Street intorno alle 21 di domenica.
Un uomo di 39 anni è stato fermato per condotta provocatoria e contraria all’ordine pubblico.
In un altro incidente, non collegato all’attacco, un giovane è stato arrestato dalla polizia per il presunto lancio di una bottiglia incendiaria a Cluan Place.
Il quindicenne è stato fermato domenica sera e interrogato anche per un tentato incendio e per possesso di droga.
L’attacco non viene ritenuto settario dagli inquirenti. L’adolescente è stato rilasciato e le indagini su di lui proseguiranno.

Police attacked in east Belfast
Police have come under attack from fireworks and bottles, after a crowd of up to 80 young people gathered in east Belfast.
The attacks happened in the Castlereagh Street area at around 9pm on Sunday.
A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly behaviour and provocative conduct.
In a separate incident in the east of the city, a teenager was arrested by police investigating reports a petrol bomb had been thrown in Cluan Place.
The 15-year-old was detained on Sunday night and also questioned about attempted arson and possession of a class B drug.
It is not believed the attack was sectarian. He has since been released pending further inquiries.
