La protesta lealista in Twaddell Avenue potrebbe essere giunta al capolinea dopo cinque mesi di braccio di ferro
Il Belfast Daily può rivelare che i contestatori sono furibondi dopo aver scoperto che l’Orange Order è segretamente impegnato in contatti con lo Sinn Féin.
La scoperta è stata fatta giovedì scorso, e secondo fonti lealisti ben informate, i manifestanti hanno fronteggiato i leader dell’Orange Order la scorsa notte.
“Twaddell è da considerarsi finito”, ha detto una fonte lealista.
“La leadership del campo si è confrontata la scorsa notte con l’Orange Order e hanno ammesso di aver organizzato due riunioni con Gerry Kelly dello Sinn Féin che non sono andate in porto.
“Dopo aver sentito questo, la maggior parte dei manifestanti ha deciso di andare via perché si sentono di traditi dall’Orange Order.
“Diciamo che l’Orange Order è finito nella m***a per questo. Le persone sono molto arrabbiate per il modo in cui sono state trattate.
“Gli avevano detto che non ci sarebbero stati negoziati né con lo Sinn Féin né con nessun altro fino a quando le logge di Ligoniel non sarebbero rientrate alla base attraverso il solito percorso.
“Le persone si sentono tradite dall’Orange Order”.
“Camp Twaddell” era stato costituito nel luglio dello scorso anno dopo il divieto imposto dalla Commissione Parate alle logge di Ligoniel, cui venne negato il permesso di tornare indietro passando davanti agli Ardoyne Shops.
Disordini scoppiarono la sera del 12 luglio scorso, dopo che la polizia bloccò gli orangisti e le bande che stavano giungendo alla rotatoria davanti ai negozi di Ardoyne.

THE protest at ‘Camp Twaddell’ could be into its last days after a five-month stand-off.
Belfast Daily understands protestors have been left angry after they discovered the Orange Order was secretly in contact with Sinn Fein behind its back.
The discovery was made on Thursday, and according to well-place loyalists sources, the protestors fronted up the Orange Order leaders in the area last night.
“Twaddell is all but over now,” said a well-placed source loyalist today.
“The leadership of the camp confronted the Orange Order last night and they admitted to two arranged meetings with Sinn Fein’s Gerry Kelly who never turned up.
“After hearing that last night, most of the protestors have now decided to walk away as they feel they have been Judased by the Orange Order.
“Let’s just say the Orange Order is in the s**t over this. People are extremely angry at the way they have been treated.
“They were told there would be no negotiations with Sinn Fein or anyone else until after the Ligoniel Lodge was allowed home by its normal route.
“People feel betrayed by the Orange Order.”
‘Camp Twaddell’ was set up in July last year after the Ligoniel lodge was banned from returning to its area past the Ardoyne shop fronts.
Rioting erupted on the evening of July 12 after police lines blocked Orangemen and bands reaching the roundabout at the shop fronts.
