Il massacro all’Heights Bar a Loughinisland, Contea di Down, avvenne mentre gli avventori guardavano la partita Repubblica d’Irlanda-Italia durante la Coppa del Mondo del 1994.
Il Police Ombudsman Al Hutchinson sta analizzando l’inchiesta della polizia dopo che le famiglie delle vittime hanno criticato l’indagine originale della Royal Ulster Constabulary – la polizia nordirlandese dell’epoca – nel 2006.
Le critiche sono state avviate dalle denunce che collegavano almeno un presunto agente delle forze di sicurezza alla banda lealista che ha ucciso i loro cari.
I parenti erano particolarmente preoccupati su come furono condotte le indagini.
Un portavoce del Police Ombudsman ha confermato: “Il rapporto sarà rilasciato venerdì”.
La relazione era inizialmente attesa per marzo.
Barney Green, 87 anni, una delle vittime, è stata la perosna più anziana ad essere uccisa durante i Troubles.
Le altre vittime sono state Adrian Rogan, 34 anni, Daniel McCreanor, 59 anni, Eamon Byrne, 39 anni, suo cognato Patrick O’Hare, 35 anni e Malcolm Jenkinson, 53 anni.

The massacre at the Heights Bar, Loughinisland, Co Down, happened as drinkers watched the Republic of Ireland play Italy during the 1994 World Cup.
Police Ombudsman Al Hutchinson is probing the police inquiry after families of the dead men criticised the original investigation by the Royal Ulster Constabulary – the Northern Ireland police force at that time – in 2006.
They were prompted by claims linking at least one alleged security force agent to the gang which murdered their loved ones.
Relatives said they were particularly concerned over how the investigation was conducted.
An ombudsman spokesman confirmed: “The report will be published on Friday.”
It was expected to have been been released in March.
