Protesta lealista a North Belfast contro la decisione della Commissione Parate

Loyalist demonstration in north Belfast

Protesta lealista a North Belfast

Around 100 loyalists have staged a white line picket in north Belfast following Tuesday’s Parade Commission ruling on a Twelfth parade in the area.

There was a heavy police presence at the protest outside Clifton Street Orange Hall at Carlisle Circus.

A counter-demonstration was held nearby by nationalists.

The demonstrations come after a restriction imposed by the parades watchdog.

Orangemen and bands will be prevented from passing the stretch of shops near the nationalist community in Ardoyne on their return route during Friday’s 12 of July events.

The Greater Ardoyne Residents Collective (GARC) had planned a march in the afternoon but called it off following the ruling.

Both protests are understood to have passed off peacefully.
