Loyalist ‘protest’ investigated
Police in Londonderry are investigating if laws were broken when 150 loyalists took part in a demonstration in parts of the Waterside last Thursday.
The group walked around mainly loyalist housing estates for two hours before dispersing.
Police say a number of options are open to them, including gathering evidence for a prosecution, or a “more direct and immediate response”.
A report has been compiled for the Public Prosecution Service.
The Ulster Political Research Group said the incident in Derry was a protest at unionist leadership, not a show of strength.
