La polizia ha sequestrato 11 bottiglie molotov a West Belfast dopo che alcuni giovani erano stati visti trasportare alcune casse in un vicolo.
I poliziotti sono stati chiamati dai residenti nella giornata di lunedì dopo che un gruppo di 20-30 adolescenti è stato visto trasportare molte molotov in un vicolo lungo Bog Meadow.
L’ispettore PSNI Alan Swann ha detto: “La polizia ha ricevuto informazioni su un gruppo di 20-30 giovani, vestiti con abiti scuri e cappucci sulla testa, che trasportavano una cassetta piena di bottiglie molotov verso la zona di St James. Il gruppo è stato notato mentre percorreva un vicolo che corre accanto Bog Meadow. Undici molotov sono state scoperte e sequestrate nel vicolo.
“Voglio ringraziare i residenti per le informazioni che hanno portato al sequestro. Voglio spronare i genitori ad essere sicuri di dove si trovano i loro ragazzi e che cosa stanno facendo, parlando con loro sul pericolo di venire presi dalla situazione e delle conseguenze che potrebbero affrontare se fossero scoperti a commettere infrazioni.
“Voglio ricordare ai giovani che ci sono conseguenze in cui potete incappare tenendo questo tipo di comportamento. Ciò che sembra una sciocchezza può causare una macchia sulla fedina penale che potrebbe impedirvi di viaggiare, studiare e prendere opportunità lavorative in futuro. È molto importante che i giovani capiscano questo”.

The PSNI seized 11 petrol bombs in West Belfast after youths were spotted carrying a crate of them down the alleyway.
Officers were called by residents on Monday, July 6, after a group of 20 to 30 youths were seen carrying a crate of petrol bombs down an alleyway alongside Bog Meadow.
Inspector Alan Swann said: “Police received reports of a group of 20/30 youths in dark clothing with hoods up carrying a crate of petrol bombs and were heading towards the St James Park area . The group of males were observed walking down an alleyway which runs alongside Bog Meadow. Eleven petrol bombs were discovered and seized in the alleyway and the youths made off.
“I would like to thank the local community for the information which led to the seizure. I would also urge parents to make sure they know where their children are and what they are doing and to talk to them about the danger of getting caught up in the moment and the possible outcomes they could face if they are found committing any offence.
“I would remind young people there are consequences when you get involved in this type of behaviour. What might seem like fooling about can often result in a criminal record which can affect travel, education and employment opportunities in the future. It is really important that young people understand this.”
