Giovedì mattina sono stati ritrovati tre ordigni esplosivi in diverse parti di Belfast
La polizia sta indagando sul collegamento con il quarto allarme sicurezza scoppiato Belfast dopo il ritrovamento di un’ulteriore pipe bomb nei pressi di un’autovettura a West Belfast.
Giovedì sera la polizia di Lisburn è stata mobilitata per la presenza di un oggetto sospetto vicino ad una vettura parcheggiata nella zona di Colinbrook.
L’allarme e il ritrovamento segue altri tre incidenti analoghi avvenuti giovedì mattina a North, South e West Belfast.
Esplosioni controllate sono state eseguite su due ordigni dagli artificieri dell’esercito britannico, mentre una terza pipe bomb lasciata sotto ad un’autovettura è esplosa parzialmente.
Mentre la polizia avviava l’operazione di sicurezza, nel cielo si è librato l’elicottero della PSNI.
Dopo ulteriori informazioni fornite da un testimone, la polizia ha evacuato alcune abitazioni della zona.
I residenti sono stati portati in un centro comunitario nelle vicinanze, mentre gli artificieri dell’esercito hanno esaminato l’oggetto che è stato successivamente dichiarato funzionante.
Gli abitanti dell’area sono potuti rientrare in casa intorno alle 3 di mattina.
L’ispettore McGuigan ha detto: “Vorrei cogliere l’occasione per ringraziare i membri della comunità locale per la loro pazienza e comprensione in tutta questa operazione, e vorrei assolutamente condannare i responsabili che hanno lasciato questo ordigno, potenzialmente in grado di uccidere o ferire gravemente.
“A questo punto delle nostre ricerche stiamo studiando un legame tra questo incidente e il ritrovamento degli altri ordigni a Belfast. Per questo motivo mi appello a chiunque possa avere informazioni utili alle nostre indagini a contattarci”.
La polizia di Lisburn vuole ottenere informazioni da chiunque abbia visto qualcuno agire in maniera sospetta nella zona di Colinbrook Gardens nel corso di giovedì 5 febbraio.

La parlamentare dello Sinn Féin Jennifer McCann ha detto che i responsabili stanno riuscendo solo a mettere a rischio la vita dei residenti.
“Stamattina abbiamo vissuto gravi disagi nella comunità di Colinbrook a Poleglass a causa di un altro ordigno lasciato sotto ad una macchina.
“Le famiglie che si preparavano per andare a lavorare e portare i loro bambini a scuola sono stati ora trasferiti dalle loro case a causa di questo incidente.
Ha aggiunto: “Chiedo alle persone che hanno informazioni di farsi avanti in modo che possiamo rimuovere queste persone dalla nostra comunità”.
Il Belfast Telegraph ha appreso che tre bombe scoperte giovedì sarebbero legate ad una faida repubblicana legata alla droga.
Fonti della polizia hanno rivelato che le pipe bomb “non contenevano esplosivi ad alto potenziale”.
“La linea principale di indagine al momento è che i tre ordigni siano legati a noti spacciatori, probabilmente con collegamenti con i repubblicani. Sembrerebbe una faida per la droga” ha aggiunto una fonte della polizia.

Residents were allowed to return home around 3am.
Inspector McGuigan said: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank members of the local community for their patience and understanding throughout this operation, and would utterly condemn those responsible for placing this device which had the potential to kill or seriously injured
“At this stage of our inquiries we are investigating a link between this incident and the three viable devices in Belfast yesterday and would appeal for anyone with any information which may assist our inquiries to contact us.”
Police in Lisburn are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the Colinbrook Gardens area at any time on Thursday 5 February to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.

Sinn Fein MLA Jennifer McCann said those responsible are only succeeding in putting the lives of the local community at risk.
“This morning we are seeing major disruption to the community in Colinbrook in Poleglass due to another device being left under a car.
“Families preparing to go to work and get their children ready for school have now been moved out of their homes due to this incident.
She added: “I am calling on people who have any information to bring it forward so that we can remove these people from our community.”
The Belfast Telegraph learned that three bombs discovered on Thursday have been linked to feuding dissident republicans engaged in a bitter drugs war.
Police sources revealed that the devices “did not contain high explosives”.
“The main line of inquiry at the minute is that the three devices are linked to known drug dealers, likely with dissident republican connections. It looks like a feud over drugs,” a police source added.
