Il diciassettnne è stato colpito ad entrambe le gambe, dopo che quattro uomini sono penetrati nell’abitazione in Virginia Court a Gobnascale, intorno alle 22 di sabato.
Due degli uomini hanno affrontato il diciassettenne in una camera da letto al piano superiore e gli hanno sparato due volte prima di fuggire a bordo di una vettura.
Il gruppo ha affermato che il giovane era “pesantemente coinvolto” nel comportamento antisociale nell’area.
Il RAAD ha anche respinto le voci secondo cui l’attacco contro un uomo a Brandywell sarebbe avvenuto per “uno scambio di identità”.
L’uomo sarebbe stato colpito dopo aver ammesso il suo ruolo nella vendita di sostanze illegali.
Nel frattempo il parlamentare Pat Ramsey ha detto che “è tempo” per la comunità di rifiutare coloro che sono dietro agli attacchi punitivi avvenuti recentemente nella città.
“Il tempo dei tribunali farsa e della tortura medievale e delle punizioni è terminato e non torna indietro. C’è una battaglia in corso per il controllo delle nostre comunità e gli uomini armati hanno bisogno di sapere che non vinceranno”.

RAAD claim Waterside gun attack
The 17-year-old was shot in both legs after four men forced their way into a house at Virginia Court in Gobnascale at about 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Two of them confronted the 17-year-old in an upstairs bedroom and shot him twice before making their escape in a waiting car.
The group claim the teenager was “heavily involved” in anti-social behaviour in the district.
RAAD has also dismissed claims that an attack on a man in the Brandywell area earlier this month was a case of “mistaken identity.”
The group claim the man was shot after he admitted his role in the sale of various illegal substances.
Meanwhle, local MLA Pat Ramsey says the “time is long past” for the community to reject those behind recent punishment attacks in the city.
He said: “The time of kangaroo courts and medieval torture and punishment is over and it is not coming back. There is a battle on for control of our communities and the gunmen need to learn that they are not going to win it. “
