Raccolta fondi per il murales del McGurk’s Bar

Venerdì 7 ottobre le famiglie del Comitato per la Commemorazione del McGurk’s hanno organizzato un evento per la raccolta fondi presso il Docker’s Club in Pilot Street a Belfast.

Sponsorizzato dal North Belfast News, l’evento promette di essere una grande serata di musica dal vivo e divertimento. Per i più fortunati la possibilità di vincere uno dei premi in contanti. Tutti sono i benvenuti.

I biglietti stanno andando a ruba, quindi chi è interessato può recarsi in anticipo all’ingresso del locale. Le porte si aprono alle 20 ed il biglietto costa 6 sterline (circa 7 euro). Tutto l’incasso servirà per la realizzazione di un murales che il Comitato desidera inaugurare per il 40° anniversario del massacro, il 4 dicembre 2011.

Mentre stiamo raccogliendo idee per la nostra mostra e la ricerca, siamo particolarmente interessati ad incontrare chiunque abbia ricordi o esperienze derivanti da quei giorni oscuri. All’evento sarà possibile ascoltare le storie di molte famiglie.

Potrete invitare i vostri amici e le famiglie. Assicuratevi di indossare i vostri vestiti migliori perché senza dubbio il fotografo del North Belfast News sarà lieto di immortalare i migliori.

McGurk’s Mural Fundraising Event

This Friday, October 7th, the families of the McGurk’s Commemoration Committee have organised a fundraising event in the Docker’s Club, Pilot Street Belfast.

Sponsored by the North Belfast News , the event promises to be a great night of live music and craic. You might just be lucky enough to win one of the cash prizes we will drawing too. Everyone is welcome!

Tickets are flying out so make sure to come down early to avoid disappointment – doors open at 8pm and you can pay £6 at the door. All monies (except for the bar receipts, of course!) will go towards a mural that we plan to unveil on the 40th Anniversary of the atrocity on 4th December 2011.

As we are gathering ideas for our exhibition and research, we would be particularly interested meeting you if you have memories or experience of those dark days. You will also get to hear the stories of many of the families there on the night.

Feel free to invite your friends and family too. Make sure you have your glad-rags on too as the ubiquitous North Belfast News photographer no doubt will be happily snapping the best-looking ones :)
