Ragazzo accusato di registrare video sulla polizia

Un giovane di Strabane è comparso in tribunale a Dungannon, accusato di aver registrato i movimenti di una vettura guidata da un poliziotto

Il diciassettenne, di cui non viene rivelato il nome, è accusato di avere informazioni utilizzabili dai terroristi.

Secondo un investigatore, il giovane ha riferito di aver registrato il numero di targa della vettura r fare un preventivo assicurativo per una macchina simile che voleva acquistare.

Il ragazzo è stato rilasciato su cauzione.

Il giudice distrettuale John Meehan ha parlato di “un’accusa estremamente sinistra nell’attuale clima”, ma è stato costretto a garantire il rilascio a causa dell’età dell’accusato.

La corte ha stabilito che il giovane dovrà risiedere a Derry.

Dovrà presentarsi nuovamente in tribunale a Strabane in data da destinarsi.

Teenager charged with recording police on mobile phone

A teenager from Strabane has appeared in court in Dungannon accused of recording the movements of a car driven by a police officer on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified because of his age, is charged with having information of use to terrorists.

A detective constable said the youth claimed to have recorded the number plate to obtain an quote for insurance for a similar car he wanted to buy.

The teenager was released on bail.

District Judge John Meehan said that it was “an extremely sinister charge in the current climate”, but he was obliged to grant bail given the defendant’s age.

The court stipulated he must reside in an address in Londonderry.

He will appear again at Strabane Magistrates Court at a date yet to be fixed.
