Il portavoce di Republican Network for Unity, Martin Óg Meehan, ha deplorato un’altra operazione di polizia politica contro membri RNU in Armagh
Sia la sua abitazione che quella dei figli sono state perquisite. La porta di ingresso è stata sfondata mentre l’uomo non si trovava in casa. Mentre lasciavano l’abitazione gli agenti di polizia hanno sigillato la porta di casa sul telaio, mediante l’uso di viti.
Anche la porta sul retro è stata chiusa e le chiavi sono state portate via dagli agenti, che hanno lasciato un biglietto per ritirarle presso l’ufficio distrettuale dell’Housing Executive, che è chiuso di mercoledì. Queste azioni, in pratica, hanno lasciato l’attivista RNU senza casa per la notte. Quando è riuscito ad entrarvi nuovamente, l’ha trovata saccheggiata, con gli abiti ed i mobili sparsi ovunque.
L’altra abitazione dell’attivista RNU è stata perquisita mentre si trovava al lavoro. La polizia è entrata nell’abitazione quando non c’era nessuno in casa. Quando la sua fidanzata è arrivata, è stata oggetto di gravi insulti e non le è stato permesso di entrare nella sua abitazione!
Queste azioni sono proseguite per alcune ore, causando il massimo disagio ai nostri attivisti e alle comunità. Republican Network for Unity deplora le quasi quotidiane molestie versi i propri attivisti. Nonostante le continue molestie ed intimidazioni provenienti dalla polizia, continueremo le nostre attività politiche senza farci piegare.

RNU targeted in political policing operation in Armagh City
Republican Network for Unity spokeperson, Martin Óg Meehan, has angrily deplored another political policing operation against RNU members in Armagh.
Both his home and the home of his children were raided. The Ard Comhairle member’s front door was smashed in, although he was not present at the time. Upon leaving the RUC/PSNI screwed the front-door inside and outside to the door frame.
The back door was also locked and the RUC/PSNI took the keys with them, leaving a note to collect the keys, at the district office of the housing executive, which is closed on Wednesday. This basically left the RNU activist homeless for the night. When he regained entry to his home, he found it to be ransacked, with furniture and clothes strewn all over the place.
The other RNU activist’s home was raided while he was at work and they also entered his home with nobody present.
When his fiancée arrived, she was subjected to extreme verbal abuse, and at first, not even allowed to enter her own home!
These raids continued for a number of hours in order to cause maximum disruption to our activists and our communities. The Republican Network for Unity deplore the now almost daily harassment towards members of our Network. Despite ongoing harassment and intimidation from the British Police, we will continue our political activities undeterred.
