Man abducted and shot in Belfast
A man has been shot after being abducted by several men in north Belfast.
The 31-year-old was bundled into a car in the New Lodge area at around 11pm on Wednesday.
He was then driven to Aspen Walk in Dunmurry, where he was shot in the leg.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, police have said.
North Belfast Alliance councillor Billy Webb has condemned those behind the shooting.
“This was an appalling attack. I cannot believe that incidents of this nature take place. The brutality of those involved is difficult to comprehend”, he said.
“Despicable actions of this nature have absolutely no place in our society. I appeal to anyone with information on this incident to contact police immediately so that those involved can be swiftly brought to justice.”
It is the latest in a series of shooting incidents in north Belfast.
