Real IRA: “Abbiamo cercato di uccidere un poliziotto a Derry”

La Real IRA a Derry ha riferito di aver abbandonato il piano per quella che è stata descritta come “un’interferenza civile”

Non si sa quando e dove l’attacco sarebbe dovuto avvenire ma si sa che era un attacco armato contro un agente della PSNI.

In una telefonata al Derry Journal, utilizzando una parola riconosciuta, un portavoce dell’organizzazione ha detto che “l’operazione con il cecchino è stata abbandonata a casa dell’interferenza civile”.

La persona ha ripetuto un avvertimento personale verso i civili di “stare lontano da tutte le forze della Corona”.

Il portavoce ha minacciato gli esercizi pubblici dal fornire merce alle forze di Sicurezza.

“Ripetiamo l’avvertimento già emesso in passato in relazione alla fornitura di oggetti alle forze di sicurezza. Controlleremo la situazione e prenderemo provvedimenti” ha detto la persona all’altro capo della cornetta.

Anche un’altra minaccia è stata lanciata contro chi fornisce limitazioni. “Chiunque passerà informazioni alle forze della Corona, ne pagherà le conseguenze.

L’avvertimento giunge a poco più di una settimana dallo scoppio di un’autobomba lasciata dalla Real IRA fuori dall’Ulster Bank in un parcheggio posizionato in Culmore Road, che ha provocato gravi danni all’edificio.

La zona intorno alla scena dell’esplosione è stata isolata per oltre 24 ore, causando gravi disagi al traffico.
L’attacco è stato largamente condannato.

‘We tried to kill Derry cop’ – Real IRA

The Real IRA in Derry says it had to abandon an attack in the city recently because of what it describes as “civilian interference.”

It is not known when or where the incident took place but it is understood it was to have been a gun attack on a PSNI officer.

In a call to the ‘Journal,’ using a recognised codeword, a spokesperson for the organisation said the “sniping operation was abandoned due to civilian interference.”

The caller also repeated a previous warning to civilians to “stay clear of all Crown forces.”

The dissident spokesperson warned businesses against supplying the security forces.

“We repeat the warning given in the past in relation to businesses supplying Crown Forces. We will be monitoring the situation and action will be taken if it does not stop,” the caller said.

A threat was also made against anyone found to be passing information to the PSNI. In a chilling warning, the caller said: “Anyone passing information to Crown Forces will pay the penalty.”

The warning comes just a week after the Real IRA detonated a large car bomb outside the Ulster Bank in a retail park on the Culmore Road which caused considerable damage to the building.

The area around the blast scene was sealed off for more than 24 hours after the explosion, causing widespread traffic disruption.
The bomb attack was widely condemned.
