La Real IRA sarebbe divenuta la più grande banda di estorsori in Irlanda e utilizzerebbe anche il traffico di donne per l’utilizzo nel “mercato del sesso” per incrementare i profitti. Una cellula a Dundalk sarebbe a capo del più grande traffico di contrabbando di sigarette in Europa insieme agli alleati est-europei. Il gruppo avrebbe stabilito legami con la mafia dell’Est Europa fin dagli anni ’80, quando era ancora inserito nei Provisional IRA.
Fonti di intelligence suggeriscono che le armi e le munizioni sequestrate questo mese nella Repubblica d’Irlanda arriverebbero dall’Est Europa.

Una cellula della Real IRA con base a Dublino nord, guidata da due fratelli, ha avviato una serie di attacchi contro gli spacciatori della capitale e sarebbero coinvolti nella morte di Sean Winters.
La banda sarebbe legata ad omicidi, tentati assassinii e ad un racket delle estorsioni del valore di 400.000 euro. Il principale obiettivo sarebbe di gestire la sicurezza dei pub a Dublino e nei dintorni e di estorcere denaro dai grandi spacciatori della capitale.
La banda avrebbe tentato di assassinare un consociato del defunto boss Eamon Dunne e del suo mentore Eamonn Kelly, che sopravvisse solo perché la pistola del killer si inceppò.
I due uomini avrebbero dovuto pagare 50.000 euro oppure sarebbero stati uccisi.
Questa cellula avrebbe estorto 400mila euro a criminale di Dublino nord durante il 2010 e molti di questi soldi sarebbero andati per l’acquisto delle armi e per la campagna armata nel Nord.

A dissident cell in Dundalk runs one of the biggest cigarette smuggling businesses in Europe with Eastern European allies. This group has long established links with eastern European mafia dating back to the early 1980s when they were still in the Provisional IRA.
Intelligence sources have suggested that the weapons and ammunition found in the two seizures in the past five days came from Eastern Europe.

A cell of the Real IRA based in north Dublin, run by two crime brothers, has launched a series of attacks on Dublin drug dealers and is believed to be behind the murder of low-level drug dealer Sean Winters.
The gang is being run by two criminal brothers and has been linked to murders, attempted assassinations and a €400,000 extortion racket. The Real IRA mob’s main aim is to control pub security in the capital and beyond and extort money from Dublin’s leading drug dealers.
The gang is believed to be behind assassination attempts on an associate of slain gangboss Eamonn Dunne and his mentor Eamonn Kelly who only survived after the gunman’s weapon jammed.
The men were ordered to pay out €50,000 or be killed.
The cell is believed to have extorted over €400,000 from criminal elements in North Dublin so far this year and most of this has gone into fuelling the terror campaign and purchasing weapons.
