Republican Network for Unity è stato informato che i repubblicani di North Belfast Martin Óg Meehan e Sammy Cusick hanno ricevuto minacce di morte da parte di un gruppo che si fa chiamare “Real” LVF.
La RUC/PSNI, i cui padroni di MI5 hanno creato, aiutato e controllato gli squadroni della morte unionisti nel passato, hanno chiamato a casa di entrambi gli attivisti repubblicani la sera di mercoledì (28 ottobre) per informarli di aver ricevuto informazioni sulle minacce di morte emesse dalla “Real” LVF e che potrebbero essere attaccati nelle prossime 48 ore.
Entrambi gli uomini sono stati attivisti repubblicani la maggior parte della loro vita adulta. Martin Óg Meehan è segretario nazionale del RNU e Sammy Cusick è il presidente del Cumann locale. Entrambi lavorano duramente per la loro comunità.
Si tratta di una rivelazione inquietante che arriva in un momento in cui il livello di attività di RNU nel nord della città è notevolmente aumentato. Mentre entrambi gli uomini prenderanno sul serio la minaccia, questa non li scoraggerà dal lavorare per la comunità.
Martin Óg Meehan ha commentato: “Ancora una volta il lealismo reazionario ha rialzato il suo volto peggiore per emettere una minaccia di morte con me ed il mio amico Sammy. Questo non è un fenomeno nuovo: spesso i lealisti inviano minacce di morte quando temono una crescita del repubblicanesimo, al fine di placare il duro lavoro degli attivisti repubblicani.
“Republican Network for Unity non sarà scoraggiato dal tentare di migliorare la vita di ogni individuo su questa isola. Nessuna minaccia lealista arresterà la progressione e la crescita del nostro movimento”.
RNU chiede alla comunità di North Belfast e oltre di mostrare sostegno e solidarietà ad entrambi gli uomini contro i reazionari filo-statali che non hanno alcun obiettivo se non quello di includere timore nelle comunità.
“Real” LVF minaccia Martin Óg Meehan e Sammy Cusick
Republican Network for Unity have been informed that North Belfast Republicans Martin Óg Meehan and Sammy Cusick have received death threats from a group calling itself the ‘Real’ LVF.
Loyalists protest outside an Alliance party office in east BelfastThe RUC/PSNI who’s MI5 master’s have set up, facilitated and controlled pro-union death squads in the past, called at both activist’s homes on Wednesday night (28th October) to inform them that they had information that the ‘Real’ LVF would make an attempt on their lives within the next 48 hours.
Both men have been Republican activists most of their adult lives. Martin Óg Meehan is RNU’s national secretary and Sammy Cusick is the chairman of his local Cumann. Both men work incredibly hard for their community.
This is a disturbing revelation that comes at a time when RNU’s activity level in the North of the City has significantly increased. While both men will take the threat seriously, it will not deter them from the sterling community and Republican activism both men are consistently engaged in.
Martin Óg Meehan has commented:
“Once again reactionary Loyalism has raised its ugly head in order to issue a death threat to myself and my friend Sammy. This is not a new phenomenon, with Loyalists often issuing death threats when they fear Republicanism may be on the rise, in order to quell the hard work of Republican activists.
“Republican Network for Unity will not be deterred from attempting to improve the lives of every individual on this island. No amount of Loyalists threats will arrest the progression and growth of our movement.”
RNU call on the community within North Belfast and beyond to show support and solidarity with both men in defiance of pro-state reactionaries who have no goal other than to strike fear into working class communities.
