Il RAAD è responsabile di dozzine di attacchi nel nord ovest durante gli ultimi tre anni, compreso l’omicidio di Andrew Allen, avvenuto poche settimane fa a Buncrana. Il gruppo, secondo la stampa, adesso starebbe operando anche a North Belfast.
Secondo il “North Belfast News” un gruppo che si fa chiamare Republican Action Against Drugs si è assunto la responsabilità di aver sparato ad un uomo nella zona di New Lodge un paio di settimane fa.
Il quotidiano afferma inoltre che il RAAD, descritto come un “gruppo dissidente repubblicano”, avrebbe confermato di aver sequestrato della cannabis da un’abitazione di Belfast la scorsa settimana.
Nelle prossime settimane, avrebbe avvertito il RAAD, altre persone implicate nello spaccio di droga potrebbero essere colpite.
Sarebbe la prima volta che il RAAD fa la sua comparsa nella zona di Belfast.
Negli ultimi tre anni il RAAD è stato coinvolto in dozzine di attacchi con arma da fuoco ed esplosivi a Derry, Inishowen, Letterkenny, Strabane e Dungiven. Il gruppo fa sapere inoltre di avere “unità” da entrambi i lati del confine.
Non è noto se il gruppo di Belfast è collegato all’organizzazione con base a Derry o se si tratta di un organizzazione separata che utilizza lo stesso nome.

‘RAAD’ now operating in north Belfast – reports
The group has been responsible for dozens of gun and bomb attacks in the north west over the last three years, including the murder of Andrew Allen in Buncrana, are now operating in North Belfast, according to press reports.
The ‘North Belfast News’ reported that a group calling itself Republican Action Against Drugs (RAAD) claimed responsibility for shooting a man from the New Lodge area of the Belfast two weeks ago.
The newspaper also claimed that RAAD, which it described as “a dissident republican group,” claimed to have seized a quantity of cannabis from a house in the city last week.
The report also said that RAAD warned that more people would be targeted over alleged drug dealing in the coming weeks.
It is be lived to be the first time a group calling itself RAAD has operated in the Belfast area.
Over the last three years, RAAD has been involved in dozens of gun and bomb attacks in Derry, Inishowen, Letterkenny, Strabane, and Dungiven, and has claimed to have “units” on both sides of the border.
It is not known if the group operating in Belfast is linked to the Derry-based organisation or a separate body using the same name.
