Dundalk dissident republic suspect refused bail
A Dundalk man arrested on suspicion of dissident republican activity has been denied bail in a non-jury Dublin court.
Barry O’Brien, 38, of Stonetown, was one of five men arrested earlier this month in Dundalk who are charged with membership of an illegal organisation and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Special Criminal Court heard he was already on bail awaiting trial on a separate IRA membership charge.
His four co-accused were granted bail earlier this month.
They are due to appear in court again in October.
