James McAfee, 28 anni, è stato accusato della morte del lavoratore comunitario cattolico Kevin McDaid
Kevin McDaid fu picchiato a morte da una banda di lealisti a Coleraine, lo scorso maggio, al termine della stagione calcistica scozzese. Il padre di quattro figlio fu assassinato vicino alla sua abitazione in Somerset Drive, nel quartiere nazionalista di Heights.
Oggi James McAfee, 28 anni, è apparso nel tribunale di Ballymena accusato della morte di McDaid e del tentato omicidio di un altro cattolico, Damien Fleming, sempre proveniente dallo stesso quartiere.
McAfee, di Lisnablagh Road, Harpurs Hill, Coleraine, deve rispondere anche di altre tre accuse, tra cui aggressione contro la vedova McDaid.
Il giudice ha respinto la richiesta di rilascio su cauzione.

James McAfee, 28, has been charged with the murder of Catholic community worker Kevin McDaid
Kevin McDaid was beaten to death by a loyalist mob in Coleraine last May following the end of the Scottish football season. The father-of-four died near his home in the Somerset Drive area of the County Derry town.
Today James McAfee, 28, appeared at Ballymena magistrates court charged with McDaid’s murder and the attempted murder of another Catholic man from the same area of Coleraine.
McAfee, from Lisnablagh Road, Harpurs Hill, Coleraine, is also facing three other charges, including one of assaulting McDaid’s widow. He was refused bail.
