Risoluzioni Orange Order, 12 Luglio 2009

Fede

Rendiamo grazie a Dio Onnipotente per il continuo lavoro dello Spirito Santo in tutto il mondo.

Come membri della Loyal Orange Institution ci dichiariamo un’organizzazione cristiana, che comprende aspetti culturali, sociali e politici.

Il nostro fondamento cristiano è supremo e su questo fondamento si poggiano gli altri aspetti.

A noi spetta non dimenticare mai che Gesù Cristo è la principale pietra angolare su cui la nostra istituzione è costruita.

In quest’anno 2009, abbiamo avuto due importanti appuntamenti.

Ricordiamo il 500.mo anniversario della nascita di Giovanni Calvino, nato il 10 luglio 1509, e rendiamo grazie a Dio per l’impatto avuto sulla Chiesa Riformista.

Ricordiamo anche con grande gratitudine e ringraziamento a Dio Onnipotente il 150.mo anniversario del Great Revival qui in Ulster.

Quel grande risveglio spirituale ci sfida oggi come organizzazione cristiana a recitare il nostro ruolo, ancora una volta, per rianimare l’influenza nella nostra terra attraverso il potere dello Spirito Santo nelle nostre vite.

Torniamo alla semplice purezza degli insegnamenti di Cristo; indietro allo spirito di evangelizzazione dei nostri antenati; indietro alle fondamenta della nostra fede Protestante Evangelica Riformata; indietro al potere rianimante della Croce di Cristo che era evidenziata così potentemente in Ulster nell’Anno di Grazie 1859.

Lealtà

Qui riaffermiamo la nostra devozione e lealtà al Trono e alla Persone della Sua Più Graziosa Maestà la Regina Elisabetta II, Regina del Regno Unito di Gran Bretagna e Irlanda del Nord e Difensore della Fede.

Chiediamo a tutti i membri delle Istituzioni orangiste di mostrare la loro lealtà al massimo livello recitando la loro parte nella vita civica delle loro comunità e nel nostro paese, ed essere un esempio di buona cittadinanza per il benessere dell’Irlanda del Nord.

Stato

Siamo compatti a favore dell’Unione del Regno Unito di Gran Bretagna e Irlanda del Nord.

Riaffermiamo, insieme con i membri delle Loyal Orange Institution in Inghilterra e Scozia, il nostro impegno verso l’Act of Settlement del 1701 e sproniamo le autorità a sostenere la Costituzione come tramandata alla nostra generazione.

Come istituzione che ha perso 335 appartenenti per la brutale campagna in Irlanda del Nord, reiteriamo la nostra convinzione che c’è una chiara distinzione morale tra vittime innocenti e coloro che le hanno uccise e menomate.

Non accetteremo mai la falsa premessa che chi ha commesso tali atti di terrorismo e omicidio possa ottenere un’amnistia. Alla fine tutti coloro che si sono impegnati nel terrorismo dovranno rispondere alle loro coscienze e a Dio.

Riconosciamo l’esistenza molte persone nella società che portano le cicatrici del terrorismo, che ancora vivono con il dolore ed il trauma del passato.

Possiamo assicurare loro il nostro continuo sostegno.

Siamo consci che in questo momento, dei soldati coraggiosi sono presenti in Iraq e Afghanistan a nome nostro, difendendo la democrazia in questi momenti difficili.

Mentre estendiamo la nostra simpatia alle famiglie dei morti e dei feriti, ringraziamo loro e coloro che continuano la campagna a nome del mondo libero.

Inviamo un caldo benvenuto ai delegati di tutto il mondo che parteciperanno all’Imperial Orange Council a Belfast, questa settimana, e siamo certi che la loro visita rafforzerà i nostri legami come una fraternità mondiale.

Ci ricordano con la loro presenza che siamo la più grande fratellanza protestante nel mondo e ringraziamo Dio per il lavoro e la testimonianza dell’Istituzione Orangista nelle passate e presenti generazioni.

Orange Order Twelfth Resolutions 2009

Faith

WE give thanks to Almighty God for the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit throughout the world.

As members of the Loyal Orange Institution we declare ourselves to be a Christian organisation, which embraces cultural, social and political aspects.

Our Christian foundation is supreme and on this foundation these other aspects rest.

It behoves us never to forget that Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone on which our Institution is built.

In this year of 2009 we mark two significant dates.

We remember the 500th anniversary of the birth of John Calvin, who was born on July 10, 1509, and we give thanks to God for the impact he had upon the Reformed Church.

We also remember with deep gratitude and thanksgiving to Almighty God the 150th anniversary of the Great Revival of 1859 here in Ulster.

That great spiritual awakening is challenging us today as a Christian organisation once again to play our part as a reviving influence in our land through the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Let us get back to the simple purity of Christ’s teaching and example; back to the evangelising spirit of our forefathers; back to the basics of our Protestant Reformed Evangelical faith; back to the reviving power of the Cross of Christ that was so powerfully evidenced here in Ulster in the Year of Grace 1859.

Loyalty

WE do hereby reaffirm our devotion and loyalty to the Throne and Person of Her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Her other Realms, Defender of The Faith.

We urge all the members of the Orange Institution to display their loyalty to full measure by playing their part in the civic life of their communities and our country, and set an example of good citizenship for the well-being of Northern Ireland.

State

WE stand firm for the Union of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

We reaffirm, along with the members of the Loyal Orange Institution in England and Scotland, our commitment to the Act of Settlement of 1701 and urge those in authority to uphold the Constitution as handed down to our generation.

As an Institution which has lost 335 members to a vicious terrorist campaign in Northern Ireland, we reiterate our belief that there is a clear moral distinction between innocent victims and those who killed and maimed them.

We will never accept the false premise that those who committed acts of terrorism and murder should be granted an amnesty. Ultimately all those who involved themselves in terrorism must answer to their consciences and to God.

We acknowledge that there are many within society who bear the scars of terrorism, who still live with the pain and trauma of the past.

May they be assured of our continued support.

We are also mindful that 2009 is the 65th anniversary year of the D-Day landings, which helped secure victory in Europe during the Second World War, and we give thanks that through the efforts of Allied soldiers at Normandy a bridgehead was created which defeated the terror of the Nazi regime.

We are mindful that at this time brave soldiers stand on our behalf in Iraq and Afghanistan, defending democracy in these troubled times.

As we extend our sympathy to the families of those killed or wounded we thank them and those continuing the campaign on behalf of the free world.

We issue a warm welcome to the delegates from across the world attending the Imperial Orange Council in Belfast this week, and trust that their visit will strengthen our links as a worldwide fraternity.

We are reminded by their presence that we are the largest Protestant fraternity in the world and give thanks to God for the work and witness of the Orange Institution in past and present generations.
