Gli agenti del Serious Crime Branch della PSNI hanno fatto il ritrovamento nel corso di una ricerca in un terreno in Cemetery Road a Strabane.
Un portavoce della polizia afferma che il ritrovamento riguarda “ciò che viene ritenuto una certa quantità di esplosivo e materiale per esplosivo”.
Gli artificieri dell’esercito britannico sono stati chiamati sulla scena ma nessuna abitazione è stata evacuata.
Il ritrovamento giunge a pochi giorni dalla scoperta di un’arma da fuoco in un’abitazione a Ballycolman, sempre nella cittadina di Strabane.

EXPLOSIVES FOUND DURING DISSIDENT REPUBLICAN SEARCHES
DETECTIVES have uncovered explosives and bomb-making material during a search into dissident republican activity on Sunday morning.
Officers from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch made the bomb-making find during a search of land on Cemetery Road in Strabane, Co Tyrone.
A police spokesman said they recovered “what is believed to be a quantity of explosives and explosive material”.
Army technical officers were called to the find but no homes were evacuated.
The find comes a day after police searched a house in Strabane’s Ballycolman estate and recovered a firearm.
