Riunione del DUP sulla devolution

E’ terminata la riunione del gruppo assembleare del Democratic Unionist Party. I parlamentari hanno discusso dei progressi ottenuti nei colloqui sul trasfrimento dei poteri su polizia e giustizia in Irlanda del Nord.

Il leader del DUP, Peter Robinson, ha ragguagliato il suo team sull’attuale stato dei negoziati con lo Sinn Fein.

Un comunicato del DUP dichiara l’incontro di oggi come “utile e costruttivo”.

Le discussioni con gli altri partiti dell’Assemblea, si legge, continueranno la prossima settimana.

Mentre non ci sono stati incontri faccia a faccia tra il DUP e lo Sinn Fein oggi, si è saputo che ieri il Segretario di Stato statunitense Hillary Clinton ha avuto una conversazione telefonica con il vice primo ministro Martin McGuinness sui negoziati.

Sia il DUP che lo Sinn Fein hanno tenuto le bocche cucite sul progresso fatto finora nei colloqui, cosa che viene presa come un buon segno.

DUP briefed on devolution

The Democratic Unionist Party Assembly group meeting on the progress of talks on the devolution of policing and justice powers in the North has ended.

It is understood that DUP leader Peter Robinson was briefing his team about the current stage of the negotiations with Sinn Féin.

A statement from the DUP described today’s meeting as ‘useful and constructive’.

It said discussions with other Assembly parties will continue next week.

While there were no face-to-face talks between the DUP and Sinn Féin today, it is understood that the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had a telephone conversation with the Deputy First Minister about the negotiations yesterday.

Both the DUP and Sinn Féin have been tight-lipped about the progress made in the talks so far, which is being taken as a good sign.
