Il primo ministro nordirlandese ed il suo vice hanno incontrato l’ex presidente degli Stati Uniti in visita a Derry
Il presidente Clinton è in visita in Irlanda del Nord in vista della prossima Conferenza Economica che si terrà a Washington il prossimo mese.
Dopo l’incontro, Robinson ha affermato: “Durante il nostro incontro, il presidente Clinton ha illustrato ancora una volta il continuo impegno dell’amministrazione americana per aiutarci a raggiungere il nostro obiettivo di avere una economia vibrante e dinamica. Negli ultimi ani, gli Stati Uniti sono diventati un amico importante ed influente.
“L’importanza del ruolo che gli Stati Uniti giocano nell’aiutarci a raggiungere gli obiettivi commerciali e di investimento, non dovrebbero essere sottostimati. Non ho dubbi che la Conferenza Economica di ottobre a Washinton generà ulteriori investimenti qui”.
McGuinness ha affermato: “E’ chiaro che il presidente Obama e il Segretario di Stato Hillary Clinton restano fedeli allo sviluppo dell’economia locale. La luce che si accenderà su di noi alla Conferenza Economica fornirà un’opportunità senza precedenti di evidenziare le opportunità di investimento agli investitori statunitensi.
“Il personale contributo del presidente Clinton al raggiungimento della pace è stato senza precedenti e senza pari. Saremo sempre grati a lui e all’attuale Segretario di Stato (Hillary Clinton) per l’enorme contributo dato e che continuano a darci”.

Robinson and McGuinness meet President Clinton
The North’s two most senior politicians have met former US president Bill Clinton in Derry.
President Clinton is visiting the North ahead of next month’s Economic Conference in Washington.
Following the meeting, Mr Robinson said: “During our meeting, President Clinton once again outlined the US administration’s continuing commitment to helping us achieve our goal of a vibrant and dynamic economy. In recent years, the US has become an important and influential friend to us.
“The importance of the role the US plays in helping us achieve our trade and investment goals should not be underestimated. I have no doubt that the Economic Conference to be held in Washington in October will generate further investment here.”
Mr McGuinness said: “It is clear that President Obama and Secretary of State (Hilary] Clinton remain committed to developing the local economy. The spotlight that will shine on us at the Economic Conference will provide an unprecedented opportunity to highlight potential investment opportunities here to US investors.
“President Clinton’s personal contribution to achieving peace was unprecedented and unparalleled. We will always be grateful to both him and Secretary of State Clinton for the enormous contribution that they have made and continue to make here.”
