Secondo arresto per i riot di East Belfast

Un secondo uomo è stato fermato per attività repubblicana legata ai disordini di East Belfast

La polizia comunica che il ventottenne fermato a West Belfast giovedì viene interrogato per disordini e per tentato omicidio di agenti di polizia.

Anche un altro residente di West Belfast di 22 anni è stato fermato mercoledì. Viene ancora interrogato dagli investigatori.

Entrambi gli uomini sono trattenuti nella stazione di polizia di Antrim presso la Serious Crime Suite.

I fermi seguono le violenze scoppiate a Short Strand e in Newtownards Road, quando centinaia di persone hanno lanciato molotov, mattoni e altri oggetti.

Second arrest over Belfast riots

A second man has been arrested in connection dissident republican activity linked to the riots in east Belfast.

Police have said the 28-year-old was detained in west Belfast on Thursday and is being questioned on suspicion of public disorder and the attempted murder of police officers.

A 22-year-old man also from the West of the city arrested on Wednesday is still being quizzed by detectives.

Both men are being held at Antrim serious crime suite.

It follows two nights of violence in the Short Strand and lower Newtownards Road areas when hundreds of rioters threw petrol bombs, bricks, bottles and other missiles.
