Una grande quantità di componenti per la realizzazione di bombe è stata scoperta dalla polizia, durante un’operazione sull’attività repubblicana in South Armagh
Secondo quanto riferito da una portavoce della polizia, nessun arresto è stato compiuto in tale occasione.
Le ricerche hanno seguito i tre “significativi” arresti avvenuti nel corso di un’operazione tra la PSNI ed An Garda Siochana. Sono state sequestrate anche armi e munizioni.
I tre uomini sono trattenuti presso la Serious Crime Suite di Antrim, dove vengono ancora interrogati.
Per il fine settimana di Pasqua la PSNI ha chiesto alla popolazione di essere attenta, a causa della minaccia repubblicana.
La polizia ha avvertito che un nuovo tentativo di omicidio da parte dei repubblicani nei confronti di un agente PSNI potrebbe avvenire nei prossimi giorni o settimane, e ha chiesto il sostegno della popolazione affinché “prenda tutti i passi appropriati e legittimi” per minimizzare la minaccia.

Bomb-making equipment found in Keady
A large quantity of suspected bomb-making equipment has been uncovered by police, during an ongoing operation against dissident republican activity in south Armagh.
According to a police spokeswoman, no further arrests have been made.
It comes after three “significant” arrests were made during a cross-border operation by the PSNI and An Garda Síochána in the area on Friday. Weapons and ammunition were also seized.
The three men who were detained were taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite, where they’re still being questioned.
Meanwhile, the public is still being urged to be vigilant – particularly over the Easter holidays – as the PSNI has been placed on full alert due to the terror threat.
Police have warned that a murder bid on officers by dissidents is likely over the coming days or weeks and have asked for public support as they “take all appropriate and legitimate steps” to minimise the threat.
