Un venticinquenne è stato fermato dopo i proiettili sparati contro una casa di Antrim nella notte di giovedì
Due persone si trovavano in casa ma non sono rimaste ferite dopo l’attacco con armi da fuoco avvenuto intorno alle 5:25 di giovedì nella zona di Rathkyle.
“Un proiettile ha trapassato la finestra con doppio vetro della cucina e si è piantato in un muro”, spiega un portavoce della polizia.
Il giovane fermato starebbe aiutando le indagini della polizia.
Neil Kelly, consigliere dell’Alliance Party, ha condannato l’attacco.
“Non ci sono giustificazioni per l’uso di armi nelle nostre strade. Gli abitanti non vogliono questo genere di violenza nelle nostre strade, vogliono essere in grado di vivere la propria vita senza timore delle armi”.
Prosegue il consigliere: “I responsabili di questo attacco non sono altro che una massa di teppisti, incapaci di offrire qualcosa alla nostra società. Devono essere al più presto catturati dalla polizia”.
La PSNI chiede agli eventuali testimoni di farsi avanti.

Arrest after shots fired in Antrim
A 25-year-old man has been arrested after shots were fired at a house in Antrim in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Two people escaped injury after two shots were fired at a house in the Rathkyle, Bleerick area at around 5.25am.
“One round is believed to have penetrated a double-glazed kitchen window and embedded in a wall,” a police spokesperson said.
The detained man is currently helping police with their inquiries.
Alliance councillor Neil Kelly has condemned the shooting.
“There is absolutely no justification for guns to be used on our streets. Local people do not want this type of violence on our streets, they want to be able to get on with their lives without the fear of guns.
He said:”The people responsible for this attack are nothing more than a bunch of thugs who are offering nothing to our society. They need to be urgently apprehended by the police.”
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
