Spari contro la polizia a Kilwilkie, Lurgan
Shots fired at Lurgan police
Police have come under attack from gunfire and petrol bombs in Lurgan, in the wake of an earlier bomb blast in which three young children were injured.
UTV understands two shots may have been fired at officers in the Kilwilkie estate, where a small number of rioters have gathered.
It comes as police continue to investigate a number of security alerts across the town – including one at Brownlow Terrace and another at Lake Street.
Earlier, the railway line between Lurgan and Moira was closed as a precaution and a controlled explosion was carried out at a builder’s yard in Kilmaine Street, although nothing suspicious was found.
Police are continuing to maintain a heavy presence in the town on Saturday night.
The police helicopter is also being used to monitor the ongoing situation.
