Strabane: un arresto nell’indagine sul ritrovamento di un ordigno artigianale

The people who left this device had every intention of killing my colleagues serving the Strabane community. They showed no regard for the families, elderly and vulnerable people who were forced to leave their homes and whose lives were put at risk. Gli investigatori hanno effettuato l’arresto di un uomo di 33 anni in seguito al ritrovamento di un ordigno esplosivo improvvisato (improvised explosive device – IDE) avvenuto a Strabane il 7 settembre.
L’uomo si trovava nella cittadina e al momento è in custodia della PSNI.
“La nostra indagine è in corso”, afferma l’ispettore Andrew Hamlin. “Faccio appello a chiunque abbia visto qualcosa di sospetto nell’area di Church View lo scorso venerdì 6 settembre o nelle prime ore di sabato, di contattare la polizia.
“Penso che il Fiat Sedici arancione, usato per la consegna delle pizze e preso con la forza nella zona di Mount Sion intorno alle 21:40 di giovedì scorso, sia stato utilizzato per posizionare l’ordigno a Church View alle 21:45.
“Il veicolo avrebbe percorso il seguente tratto: Mount Sion, Ballycolman Avenue, Bridge Street, Market Street e Church Street”, ha continuato l’ufficiale. “In seguito è stato abbandonato in Evish Road a Strabane”.
