Nuove violenze sono scoppiate a Lurgan, per la terza sera consecutiva
Disordini sono esplosi nella zona nelle sere di giovedì e venerdì, quando uomini armati sono stati visti per le strade e alcuni veicoli sono stati sequestrati.
Le proteste sono iniziate dopo la condanna, avvenuta giovedì, di tre uomini, accusati di possesso di una bomba di mortaio.
La Northern Irish Rail ha bloccato la linea ferroviaria tra Lisburn e Portadown, mentre i passeggeri tra Belfast e Dublino hanno subito ulteriori problemi.
I passeggeri sono stati trasferiti a bordo di pullman tra Drogheda e Belfast.
La Northern Irish Rail dice di non poter prevedere quando la linea verrà riaperta.
Circa trenta giovani sono stati coinvolti nei disordini di venerdì. Sono stati notati anche uomini armati.
Giovedì sera uomini a volto coperto sono stati visti sulla scena dei disordini scoppiati nel quartiere di Kilwilkie, dove è stata trovata la replica di un’arma.
Più di cinque veicoli sono stati sequestrati e incendiati a Lurgan.
Stesse scena a Craigavon, dove un camion è stato dato alle fiamme.
“Ci sono quelli che ovviamente desiderano proseguire con le violenze di ieri”, ha detto a Utv la parlamentare dello SDLP, Dolores Kelly.
“Sono stati frustrati la scorsa notte. La polizia non è caduta in trappola e quindi non hanno potuto utilizzare le bottiglie incendiarie e gli altri oggetti che avevano raccolto, così la gente avrebbe evitato la zona.
“C’è sempre il rischio che la violenza possa aumentare e divenire qualcosa di grave, e spero che il buon senso prevalga e la gente non si faccia tirare in mezzo. Chiedo a coloro che hanno influenza sulla gente, di esercitarla”.

Further violence flares in Lurgan
Fresh violence has erupted in Lurgan for the third night in a row.
Troubles erupted in the area over the past two nights, as gunmen were seen on the streets and a number of vehicles were hijacked.
The disturbances were sparked by the jailing of three men for possession of a potentially lethal mortar bomb on Thursday.
Northern Irish Rail stopped trains between Lisburn and Portadown, and rail commuters travelling between Belfast and Dublin faced further disruption on Saturday.
Passengers were bussed between Drogheda and Belfast for services on Saturday morning.
Northern Irish Rail said it could not say when the line would reopen fully.
About 30 youths were involved in the disturbances on Friday night and there were reports of armed and masked men in the area.
On Thursday night, masked gunmen were also at the scene of the disturbances which flared in the Kilwilkie estate, where a replica gun was found.
More than five vehicles were hijacked and set on fire in Lurgan.
Trouble also erupted in Craigavon where a lorry was hijacked and set on fire.
“There are obviously those intent on continuing the violence”, SDLP MLA Dolores Kelly told UTV on Friday evening.
“They were frustrated last night. The police didn’t fall into their trap and they didn’t get to use the petrol bombs and other things they had gathered up, so people would do well to avoid the area.
“There’s always the risk it could escalate into something more serious, and I would hope common sense would prevail and people stay off the board. I would urge those with influence to exercise it.”
