Terza sera di violenza a North Belfast

Di nuovo lanci di bottiglie molotov contro la polizia a North Belfast, mentre la violenza esplode per la terza sera consecutiva

Gli agenti della PSNI sono finiti sotto attacco a Brompton Park, mentre altri gruppi di persone si sono radunate presso gli Ardoyne shops (i negozi di Ardoyne) e in Twaddell Avenue.

Crumlin Road è stata chiusa all’altezza di Cambrai Street.

Giovani hanno anche bloccato North Queen Street con una barricata, mentre la polizia deve affrontare sporadici incidenti nella zona di Markets e di Short Strand.

A Stewart Street un autobus è stato danneggiato dal lancio di pietre e c’è stato il tentativo di sequestrare una vettura.

Gli incidenti giungono dopo lo scoppio di gravi disordini in tutta la città di Belfast – e in altre zone tra cui Lurgan e Derry – nella sera di lunedì, in seguito alle parate orangiste del 12 luglio.

Più di 50 agenti di polizia sono rimasti feriti nel tentativo di riportare la calma.

Third night of violence in Belfast

Petrol bombs have been thrown at police in north Belfast as violence breaks out for a third night.

Officers came under attack at Brompton Park on Tuesday night, as groups of people gathered at the Ardoyne shopfronts and at Twaddell Avenue.

The Crumlin Road has been closed at Cambrai Street.

Youths have also blocked North Queen Street with a barricade across the road, while police are dealing with sporadic incidents in the Markets and Short Strand areas.

At Stewart Street, a bus has been damaged by stone throwers and an attempt has been made to hijack a car.

It comes after serious rioting erupted across the city – and in areas including Lurgan and Londonderry – on Monday night, following Twelfth of July parades.

More than 50 police officers were injured as they tried to restore calm.
