Torrens Knight si sta appellando contro la sua condanna a quattro mesi di carcere per aver attaccato due sorelle in un bar di Coleraine
Knight ricevette 12 ergastoli per la sua parte nel massacro di Greysteel e per l’omicidio di quattro lavoratori cattolici.
Le due sorelle aggredite hanno testimoniato durante il processo di appello presso il tribunale di Antrim.
Rosemary Sutherland ha affermato che Knight la colpì con un pugno in viso, rompendole il naso, perché aveva cercato di fermarlo dal continuare a colpire con i calci sua sorella, già buttata a terra sul pavimento del Blackthorn bar, dopo averle detto di avere un affare in sospeso con lei.
La seconda donna, Caroline Nicholl, ha riferito di aver incontrato Knight solo una volta in precedenza, ma l’uomo avrebbe colpito a calci in un’occasione la porta della madre.
La Sutherland ha negato che le ferite fossero causate da una testata ricevuta dalla nuova moglie del suo ex marito.
Un avvocato di Torrens Knight ha chiesto alla Sutherland perché la polizia non era stata chiamata immediatamente dopo la presunta aggressione.
La risposta è stata: “Perché sapevamo chi fosse. Eravamo spaventate”.

Greysteel killer Torrens Knight is appealing against his conviction and four-month jail sentence for attacking two sisters in a Coleraine bar.
Knight received 12 life sentences for his part in the Greysteel massacre and the separate killing of four workmen.
The two sisters gave evidence at the appeal at Antrim County Court.
Rosemary Sutherland said Knight punched her in the face and broke her nose after she tried to stop him kicking her sister, whom he had knocked to the ground in the Blackthorn bar after telling her he had unfinished business with her.
Her sister Caroline Nicholl said she had only met 40-year-old Knight once before, but claimed he had kicked her mother’s door in on one occasion.
Ms Sutherland denied her injuries were caused by a headbutt from her ex-husband’s new wife.
A lawyer for Knight, of Ashdale, Coleraine, asked Ms Sutherland why she hadn’t called police immediately after he allegedly assaulted her.
She replied: “Because of who it was. We were scared”.
