La polizia ha chiesto rinforzi mentre le tensioni crescevano tra gli agenti in assetto antisommossa e i manifestanti.
Un furgone carcerario è stato spostato nella zona di North Belfast.
I nazionalisti hanno lanciato pietre e bottiglie contro le linee della polizia.
Nessuno è stato arrestato e nessuno è rimasto ferito.
Ci sono state proteste anche in Flax Street e Cambrai Street.
Una fonte lealista ha accusato la polizia di “fomentare tensioni” con i manifestanti.
Il Police Ombudsman adesso sta indagando sulla denuncia per le azioni compiute dalla polizia nella serata di lunedì.
“Questo sta accadendo una notte dopo l’altra”, ha detto la fonte lealista.
“La polizia arriva per rimuovere una bandiera dal sito di protesta. Questo è accaduto nella notte di domenica, quando hanno rimosso una bandiera dell’Unione inviata da un soldato in Afghanistan.
“La stessa cosa è successa ieri sera e di nuovo stasera.
“La polizia si muove solo per rimuovere una bandiera quando ci sono solo donne.
“La scorsa notte alcune donne sono state picchiate dalla polizia.
“Poi, quando sono arrivati gli uomini e hanno visto quello che stava accadendo, la polizia si è scagliata contro di loro, alcuni dei quali erano anziani orangisti.
“Un uomo anziano è stato colpito al petto.
“L’azione ha causato molta rabbia sia sul territorio che sui social network.
“Dalle pagine lealiste su Facebook sono giunte richieste di riportare in strada le pistole per usarle contro la polizia. Si tratta di gente arrabbiata per il modo in cui vengono aggrediti e maltrattati dalla polizia”.
Un agente di polizia è stato individuato per abuso di manifestanti nella notte di martedì.
Aggiunge la fonte: “I manifestanti hanno cantato in continuazione il suo nome. Ma lui non si è presentato.
“È stato notato seduto in una Land Rover parcheggiata in Woodvale Road e adesso sta tenendo un basso profilo”.

SECOND NIGHT OF CLASHES AT TWADDELL PROTEST
Police have drafted in more reinforcement as tensions mount between PSNI riot squad officers and protestors.
A prison van has also been moved into the flashpoint area of north Belfast.
Nationalists threw stones and bottles at police lines.
No one was arrested and no one was injured.
There is also a protest at Flax Street and Cambrai Street.
A loyalist source in the area accused police of “stirring up tensions”with protestors.
The Police Ombudsman is now investigating a complaint about police actions on Monday night.
“This is happening night after night now,” said the loyalist source.
“Police move in to remove a flag from the protest site. This happened on Sunday night when they removed a union flag sent from a soldier in Afghanistan.
“The same thing happened last night and again tonight.
“Police only move in to removed a flag when there only women about.
“Last night, a number of women were beaten by the cops.
“Then when the men arrived and seen what was happening, the police waded into them, some of whom were elderly Orangemen.
“One elderly man was struck in the chest.
“It has caused a lot of anger both on the ground and also on social media sites.
“Loyalist pages on Facebook have been calling for guns to brought back out and used on the police. That’s just angry people are at the moment at the way they are being assaulted and abused by police.”
One police officer has been singled out for abuse by protestors on Tuesday night.
Added the source: “The protestors have been chanting his name all even. But he hasn’t turned up.
“He has been detailed to sit in a land rover on the Woodvale Road and is keeping a low profile.”
