Arrest over Belfast car bomb
A 25-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the discovery of a bomb under a police officer’s family car in east Belfast in December last year.
The PSNI officer, who was off duty at the time, was about to leave his Upper Newtownards Road home for lunch with his wife and two young children on Sunday 30 December when the device was found.
Detectives from PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch made the arrest in the Antrim area on Monday morning.
The man has been taken to the town’s police station for questioning.
Last Thursday morning, a 25-year-old woman was arrested by officers investigating the murder attempt.
She was taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning, but was released later that day pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
