Un successo la commemorazione per lo sciopero della fame

Il parlamentare di Newry e Armagh, Mickey Brady, ha esaltato la grande partecipazione alla commemorazione per lo Sciopero della Fame di domenica nella Contea di Tyrone.

L’evento si è tenuto a Galbally, il luogo di nascita del martire repubblicano Martin Hurson.

Brady ha commentato: “E’ stato fantastico vedere così tanti uomini, domme e bambini da Newry e Armagh partecipare a questa commemorazione nazionale.

“Gli organizzatori del raduno vanno complimentati per l’evento, che ha visto molte drammatizzazioni durante il percorso della parata.

“E’ importante che 28 anni dopo la morte dei 10 hunger strikers, noi continuiamo a ricordare il loro sacrificio in una maniera così appropriata”.

Brady ha anche applaudito alle bande musicali repubblicane provenienti da South Armagh che hanno preso parte alla commemorazione.

Hungerstrike parade is a ‘fitting’ success

NEWRY and Armagh MLA Mickey Brady has hailed the large local turn-out at Sunday’s Hunger Strike commemoration in County Tyrone.

The event was held in Galbally, the birthplace of Hunger Striker Martin Hurson.

Mr Brady commented: “It was fantastic to see so many men, women and children from Newry and Armagh attending this year’s national commemoration in Tyrone.

“The organisers of the rally must also be commended for the event, which featured many dramatisations along the route of the parade.

“It is important that 28 years after the deaths of the 10 hunger strikers, we continue to remember their sacrifice in such a fitting manner.”

Mr Brady also paid tribute to the republican flute bands from south Armagh who took part in the commemoration.
