Suspect object in north Belfast ‘was pipebomb’
A suspicious device found on the Cavehill Road in north Belfast was a viable device, police have said.
It was found near Madison Avenue. Five flats were evacuated for a time but the occupants have been allowed to return to their homes.
Army bomb officers were called to examine the device at about 1430 GMT on Thursday.
The area was cordoned off for some time as the alert continued.
