Man stabbed in sectarian attack
A man has been stabbed in the face during a suspected sectarian attack in Londonderry.
The 26 year-old man was walking with a 19 year-old woman in the Chapel Road area of the city around 2am on Monday when two men jumped out of a car and attacked him with knives.
He was stabbed in the ribs during the assault and taken to hospital for treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The two attackers are described as being in their mid 20’s and one had blond hair.
A PSNI spokeswoman said they are treating the incident as sectarian.
