Un quarantunenne di North Belfast è stato accusato per il possesso di esplosivi ed una pistola
Deve rispondere di sette accuse, tra cui possesso di esplosivi, un’arma da fuoco e as lacrimogeno.
Una delle accuse è legata al ritrovamento di una bomba di mortaio nella giornata di giovedì in Ethna Drive ad Ardoyne.
I reati sarebbero legati alle attività repubblicane nella zona.
Tra gli esplosivi sarebbe stato ritrovato anche del semtex.
L’avvocato di Wootton respinge tutte le accuse e parla di mancanza di prove che legherebbero il suo assistito alle accuse.
Wootton è stato rimandato in custodia e dovrà comparire nuovamente in tribunale in video collegamento il prossimo mese.

Man charged with having dissident explosives and guns
A 41-year-old north Belfast man has been charged with having explosives and a gun, at Belfast Magistrates’ court.
He faces seven charges, including possession of explosives, a fire arm and CS gas.
One of the charges is linked to the discovery of a bomb in the Ardyone area on Thursday.
The offences are believed to be connected to dissident republican activity.
Among the explosives alleged to have been in Mr Wootton’s possession is semtex.
The accused’s solicitor said Mr Wootton denied all the charges against him and that there was no evidence to link him to the charges.
Mr Wootton was remanded in custody to reappear by video link next month.
