Uomo ferito ad una gamba ad Armagh

Un uomo di 24 anni è stato ferito ad una gamba in un attacco in stile paramilitare

L’aggressione è avvenuta nella zona di Culdee Street intorno alle 22 di giuvedì.

Quattro o cinque uomini a volto coperto sono entrati nell’appartamento e hanno trascinato l’uomo all’esterno. Poi gli hanno sparato al ginocchio sinistro con un fucile.

E’ stato trasportato in ospedale. Le ferite non mettono a repentaglio la vita. Gli investigatori di Newry stanno cercando dei testimoni.

I repubblicani sono ritenuti responsabili per la crescita di attacchi di questo tipo in tutta l’Irlanda del Nord.

Man shot in leg in Armagh city

A 24 year-old-man has been shot in the leg in a paramilitary-style attack in Armagh.

He was attacked in the Culdee Street area of the city at about 2200 GMT on Thursday.

Four or five masked men entered a flat and dragged the man outside and shot him in the left knee with a rifle.

He was taken to hospital, though his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Detectives in Newry are appealing for witnesses.

Dissident republicans have been responsible for an upsurge in similar shootings in Northern Ireland over the past year.
